Communications
You will receive several important communications ahead of pre-service training. Be on the lookout for important emails regarding your Skill Building Sessions (SBS) logistics and Teaching Academy placements. You will also receive University Placement messaging, which includes a guide to your assigned institution, important deadlines for completing your university application, and information on your subject area and certification. Beginning in January, you will also begin receiving "The Collaborative," a monthly newsletter to keep you informed on certification deadlines and requirements, learning opportunities, networking and hiring events, and much more. Stay tuned!
Photocopying and Printing
You are responsible for producing professional written work on computers. All assignments (including lesson plans) must be word-processed. You might not have computer or copier access at your Teaching Academy site during PST, but New York City public libraries offer free computer access and FedEx Offices and other print shop locations provide computer usage for a fee.
Lunch
We recommend that you pack and carry lunch with you, as options at or around your school might be limited. You might not have access to a refrigerator or microwave, so it is usually a good idea to bring something that does not have to be heated.
Next Steps
- Review the performance expectations during PST to ensure that you understand how you will be evaluated during the spring.
- Keep up to date with completing all program deliverables by their due dates.
- Mark important dates on your calendar and put together a list of things you need to complete before PST begins.
- Get excited for the start of PST! Remember, the first day of PST will begin with Skill Building Sessions on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. We are eager for you and the other Partner Teachers in your cohort to come together to kick off spring training!
