At this time, our university partners will not incorporate transfer credits or additional credits earned after graduation when calculating your final cumulative undergraduate GPA. The cumulative GPA that appears on your final undergraduate transcript is the only GPA that will be considered by the NYC Teaching Collaborative and our university partners when determining your eligibility to participate in this program.
We cannot accept any applicant who has a final cumulative undergraduate GPA below a 2.5 unless they've earned a graduate degree and earned at least a 3.0 GPA upon its completion. We are bound by our university partnerships and state regulations in this aspect and are unable to offer further exceptions to our GPA requirement, regardless of where your GPA was earned or any other academic or professional achievements.
We recommend that you independently research and pursue other teaching certification pathways with different eligibility requirements. You may also consider contacting your undergraduate institution to inquire if they have recommended methods that allow you to increase your final cumulative undergraduate GPA.
