The New York City Department of Education’s Criteria for New Teacher Readiness is a large-scale effort by the New York City Department of Education to publish a vision for teacher preparation that is directly aligned to the needs and demands of New York City students, schools, and school leaders, and the New York State Teaching Standards. The criteria identifies the knowledge and skills we value and believe are important for teachers to develop throughout their preparation. The course objectives for Partner Teachers' Field Experience are also directly aligned to the course objectives for Skill Building Sessions, as these courses must be taken concurrently.
