When will I receive my NYCPS email credentials?
Credentials will be issued on a rolling basis over the next few weeks following confirmation of your background clearance.
What happens next?
Following confirmation of clearance, if you have never had NYCPS credentials previously you will receive two emails - one with your username and a separate one with a temporary password. Please monitor your NYCTC application email address (including SPAM/junk folder) for these messages and login ASAP to update your password.
What email address will these messages come from/what is the subject?
The messages come from ‘DOE_Systems@schools.nyc.gov’ & the subject line is “Username for DOE systems” for the first message and “Password for DOE systems” for the second. See below for screenshot examples of what these messages look like.
What if I already have a NYCPS login?
If you currently work at a school or have in the past, you use the credentials previously issued to you and you will not receive the emails.
What if I previously had a NYCPS login but need to reset my password?
You should be able to use the reset password tool and provide additional information to reset your password.
What if I do not receive messages with my login information?
Check your spam folders. Remember that these are being issued on a rolling basis, so you won’t receive them immediately. If you still do not have your credentials by January 5, contact the Online Support Center to let us know. If you previously had NYCPS credentials, you will not receive these messages. You will use the same login you had previously.
Why did I receive a nomination email telling me to go into Applicant Gateway and complete fingerprinting?
While your credentials are being created, you will also receive an automated message stating that you are registered as an Alternate Certification Candidate and outlining the next steps you must take for fingerprinting and background clearance. This is an automated message, and you will not need to take the fingerprinting steps again. We apologize for the inconvenience and confusion. You will however need to complete the emergency contact form in Applicant Gateway with this new nomination.
